This Banjo was made by me in my small shop on the big island of Hawaii about 10 months ago. The body is made from various hard woods leftover from my shop.The bolt on neck is made of mahogany, and is fitted with a truss rod for stability and adjustment. The fret board is rosewood with MOP inlay markers. This instrument has a 25.5 inch fret scale so it is just a little shorter than a standard 5 string banjo.It is fitted with two quad rail pickups with (Les Paul guitar style) volume and tone control pots and a three way selector switch. I used a new set of Schaller tuning machines with a Waverly planetary 5th string tuner The second and third string tuners are the D tuner type for quick change tuning, for that Skrugs drop down style. I also added mini RR spikes at the 7th,8th,9th, and 10th frets for 5th string capoing. This instrument weighs about 7.2 pounds. The bridge is a hand made through body type with adjustable electric guitar saddles for setting string height and intonation. This E-Jo comes with a really nice (Gator) electric guitar case. It is also fitted with locking strap pegs. This banjo is a one of a kind instrument and is fun to play. I have added a small clip on you tube of one of my other electric banjos, Although the clips not this banjo it sounds very similar.
