Vox are one of the most iconic brands in the music industry, built to the highest quality and becoming extremely collectable in the modern market. Notable users include The Beatles, Brian May, Ritchie Blackmore, Hank Marvin, Peter Green, and many more. The official Vox AC100 website states the following about this beautiful amplifier:"Designed in 1963 by Dick Denney in a continuing quest to provide the Beatles with more power...the AC100 was perhaps one of the loudest, if not the loudest amplifier of its day, producing something in the region of 70-80 watts clean, with a little more to spare when really pushed. Even by today's standard, it is a truly wonderful amp".The addition of the Vox Foundation Bass Cabinet completes this beautiful stack. This is no exception to the rarity and build-quality of these favoured early 100s and are extremely rare to find nowadays. Product Details Plate Serial: 1115Chassis Serial: 1409Watts: 100 wattsValves: 4x EL34, 1x ECC82, 2x ECC83Valve Brands: All Mullard less 1x Mesa ECCTransformers: Woden + Black UnbrandedCodes: WD/WE (April/May 1965)Footswitch: NAWeight: 17.0kgDimensions: 50x30x20cmCabinet: LFA 52Cabinet Serial: 1359Speaker: Audiom 91Speaker Serial: 84499Combined Weight: 48.0kg Service History We pride ourselves on our inspections and the professional service of each amplifier, making this ready to plug in and play anywhere within the UK. Cosmetic Inspection This is in good, used condition. It has been gigged in its history and has plenty of stories to tell. However, the amplifier has been well looked after and flew through the recent service. The exterior cloth is a little worn in places, as pictured, but still holds true. The chassis has a few marks on it too, along with the original transformers showing wear. Nothing cosmetic will affect the playability of this rare amplifier. The cabinet is missing the original Vox plaque and the grill cloth has faded around that to a brown colour. Has a small "GH" on the back. Brilliant cosmetic condition apart from these little bits. Originality In our opinion, the main components are original. The 2x black 'unbranded' transformers are in line with the period and the markings of the Woden choke and the date codes of the internals confirm originality. Summary One of the best quality amplifiers you'll find. These exceed the quality of most new amplifiers and are always on the increase in regards to collectability. Come along and have a play! Please click on the photographs below to see the high quality versions. We pride ourselves on our high quality and safe worldwide shipping at an affordable price so please see the quote for your country.
