I'm selling my collection of trumpets, and this 1958 Olds Recording trumpet is the jewel - what an absolutely amazing horn! Those familiar with these famous red brass instruments know that it's all about that to-die-for tone and timbre that the Recordings produce. Warm, dark, mellow, fat are some of the adjectives and I might add - addicting...These instruments are rarely seen in Europe, so now is your chance to get an American dream of a trumpet from that coveted golden era of trumpet manufacturing. Being from the 50's this trumpet also features the Re-O-Loy lead pipe for extra warm sound! Mechanically this trumpet is impeccable; the slides pull perfectly, the compression is excellent, and the valves are fast and silent. The trumpet had new water key corks, valve stem felts and corks and top cap felts a month ago.The finish is good, there is, however, some hazing in the lacquer on the nickel trim and the receiver (see photos). Note that the Monette Prana mouthpiece pictured is not included. Included, however, is a +400USD TorpedoBag Loredo (leather version with music pouch and mute bag) - the arguably best place to store and transport your trumpet! Happy bidding!!
