1940's Haynes Flute Headjoint in Sterling not Coin Silver-excellent original cnd
Estimated price for orientation: 750 $
Category: Flutes
Class:
Description
Haynes heavy wall handmade flute headjoint from the 1940's.
This was appraised by a former 20 year Haynes employee who rose to the critical job of Tester and serviced flutes for Jean Pierre Rampal and more recently Gary Schocker.
It is prior to 1946 when they switched to a coin silver. This is Sterling and marked as such on the body tube and lip plate.
It is a low riser , heavy wall that fit my commercial but was made for the handmades.
Powerful and warm dark sound. He told me that the players who would want this already know what it is about.
He also said it was in excellent original condition and had seen very little use. He found one tiny dent in the top body tube that I can not find or photograph.
A superb example.
