If you have less than 5 feedback you MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID!Here we have a 2001 Ibanez RG 520 QS. This is one of the few Mahagany body RG's Ibanez has made. Made in Japan and would be considered prestige quality if made today. Originally this one was the Trans Blue color, however over the years the finish Ibanez used on these models tends to turn opaque and much of the gorgeous figure of the wood is lost. This one was no exception, so I completely stripped it back to the wood. I then put a Tru-Oil Finish on it which brought out the brilliance in the quilted Sapele top. It, of course, made the Mahagany look excellent as well. It looks ten times better than it even did originally before the finish had opaqed out. I also added a bit of red dye around the edges of the top to creat a subtle burst effect. If you are a believer in letting your tonewoods "breathe" then this tru oil finish is for you!The guitar sounds great even with the stock v7,v8 set up which is what it has in it now, and really screams with Evo's and any number of other great aftermarket pickups. The 5 way switch and pots work as they should and I have heard no crackling as of yet. The Super Wizard neck plays very well and there is tons of fret life left. There are NO Cracks near the locking nut bolts, or in the neck pocket! The frets are in good shape, I don't even see any chording divots on the cowboy chord area yet. The action is set nice and it plays great. A good setup for how "YOU" like it is always advised. There are a couple of dings on the edge of the fretboard as pictured. There are a couple of small chips on the very tip of the headstock.The hardware does show some finish wear on different areas, this is common with the cosmo hardware. The original Edge trem is well known to be the best Floyd variant out there, they take the abuse and keep things in tune.Im sorry but I do not have the trem bar for this one.
