No pitting or marks on the chrome. Of course, rarity aside, this drum sounds phenomenal. Everything you hear about the tama 6.5X14 bell brass is absolutely true. They sound great to the ear or under a mic. TONS of attack and body, and a crazy amount of low end punch from a metal snare drum. It hits you in the chest.
