Description
Brand: Weissenborn

1920's Hilo Lap Steel Weissenborn No Cracks   A beautiful example of a Hilo Style 625 lap steel. Similar to Weissenborn's, the Hilo company of New Jersey took to building Hawaiian style guitars when the craze hit America in the early 1920's. This is the cleanest original you will find. Most have dried out and are cracked and repaired. Mine has no cracks, and all original finish. The dark wood nut is slotted, but sits a little low. The metal string raiser gives a bit more height, but can pop right off if desired.Sounds great for traditional or blues playing.Original period case, somewhat tattered, but solid.   This fantastic item can be seen in person at OFF THE WALL ANTIQUES – 737 N.
