Description

This was my Grandpas banjo.  It has been in storage for a long time.  I have only dusted it and left it as I found it.  The stamp which says S. S. STEWART PHILA. PA. dates it from 1885 to 1888.  It is also stamped GRADE 2 with a Serial # of 5036.  There is also a paper label on the inside wood that is very faint but says S. S. STEWART PHILA. PA.  It is a five string with white pegs and a black peg on the fifth string.  You can see in the pictures that there is one replacement screw.  The skin is cracked below the bridge and someone put a piece of tap on it.  There is a small carving on the neck which looks like a clover.  Wood is in great shape with no bow, twists or cracks. There are some minor scratches on the neck.  It would need to be re-skinned and strings would need to be replaced to play.  I did not find any case with it.  Diameter is 11-1/4" and length of neck is 24".  For being over 125 years old it is in good shape.  I will be happy to send more pictures if requested.  Ships in the US only.
