First released in late 2000, the Access Virus Indigo offered players a uniquely powerful, versatile and hands-on virtual analog synth in a compact package.15 years on, it's a classic – but not just for nostalgia. Compare it with similar new synths and you'll notice its powerful synthesis engine, flexible input/output processing and revered modulation matrix (in particular) continue to hold their own. It offers high-end features that remain high-end now – including 24-bit/18-bit AD/DA converters, 24 voices (4 oscillators per voice) and a remarkable number of effects plus vocoder. This particular unit has been kept in storage (in a custom-fitted, lockable road case) for the past few years (owing to available studio space and a busy schedule); it hasn't been gigged nor taken on tour since I've owned it. It's time for someone to make better use.Solid road cases for these instruments are notoriously rare and expensive (as high as USD$385 … crazy, I know) – yet essential for this solid monster of a keyboard. That work is taken care of; please take that into account when considering your bids.Once particularly coveted by trance producers, this German-made synth (part of a long line of celebrated Virus models) is suited to all kinds of electronic music, especially to those keen to explore its deep programmability. (I first learned of it via the experimental trio , awed by its ability to create playable, complex and sometimes noisy and heavily effected sounds.) I hope the successful bidder will enjoy this synth to its fullest degree. Good luck!
Here's a bunch of stuff from the original marketing material:'Virus Indigo - The Virtual Roadster'Access' Virus Indigo is not just another synthesizer. Driven by the sheer power of the Virus synthesizer engine, it is a masterpiece in engineering. Compact enough to be a great companion for a laptop based portable studio, it offers you everything needed to produce state-of-the-art sonic textures. Its aluminium side panels, in combination with the crystal clear blue LEDs, turn it into much more than a tool. Stylish in design, modern in approach, the Virus Indigo provides the musician with the ultimate in virtual analog sound. The philosophy behind the development of the Virus OS was to create a synthesizer with a vast palette of sonic possibilities rather than simply simulating static analog circuits. This demand made it necessary to take into consideration the numerous and very fine sound details that let an analog synthesizer or an acoustic instrument sound so alive. The Virus' powerful DSP technology allows you to create these specific sound characteristics without being restricted by traditional analog limitations.Virus Indigo -The Virtual RoadsterAccess' Virus Indigo is not just another synthesizer.
