by Yamaha In collaboration with Karl Leister (who played Oehler-system keywork) Yamaha developed their series of German-bore clarinets to compete with bespoke brands like Wurlitzer. Toward the end of his tenure at the Berlin Philharmonic Leister is said to have endorsed Yamaha over Wurlitzer, a testament to Yamaha's superior tuning. This model is not produced any more because of the very high production costs due to the hand-made finish.
