This one is a demo that looks like it's never been played, but the manufacturer insists that we sell it as a used horn. Original lacquer finish is 99%, with a small tarnished area under the lacquer on the bell spout tail (too slight to show in photos). There is a minor dent to the bell flare, again too slight to show in the photos. Otherwise, it looks like a new horn!
The valve rotors are tight and fast.The Holton H-281 was originally designed as an alternative to the popular H-279, with the bronze bell giving it a warmer, focused sound that appeals to many players, but still with the capabilities of a large bell American horn.
Suggested retail price for a new Holton H-281 double horn is now $7,991, with a street price of $5,338. This superb Holton Farkas H-281 is a best buy at $3,449!Original Holton "MDC" mouthpiece, original deluxe Holton flat case, and our usual two-year service warranty are included.

It's in addition to any factory guarantees. For two full years, we will repair or replace, whichever in our estimation is the more advisable, pads, corks, springs or other parts required, at no charge to the customer. The customer is responsible for shipping and insurance charges. Cases and plating finishes are not covered by our service warranty but are sometimes covered by factory guarantees. Wichita Band Instrument Company maintains a repair department capable of restoration work of the highest quality. Even though repairs are essentially free for the first two years, after that period has expired, we remain at your service to maintain and repair your musical equipment forever. It's our service after the sale promise and has been since 1953! In the event that a customer requires service under factory guarantees or Wichita Band's service warranty, the item must be returned to us and not directly to the manufacturer. We collect NO SALES TAX, unless you're lucky enough to live in Kansas. The customer is responsible for shipping and insurance and must pre-pay back to us any freight and insurance charges on returned equipment. International shipping is available. We're happy to send any instrument with a 5 day return privilege, but ask the prospective buyer to pay shipping both ways and to reimburse us for restocking and clean-up costs (2.95% on credit card transactions/no fees on PayPal transactions) on any returned instrument. Returned items will be refunded within 2 weeks of receiving the item. VISA/MASTERCARD/DISCOVER/PAYPAL ACCEPTED.
