I made this viola while studying violin making with Michael Altshuler (), in Richmond, B.C The viola shape was based on the Stradivari from 1709, Cremona, Italy It was completed in 2010, Serial number 5. Description : The top is made of 2 piece European spruce (Russian), quarter-sawn, of very light weight. The back is made of old growth European maple, quarter-sawn with nearly horizontal curl. The neck is made of Russian maple. The fingerboard is Gabon ebony. The finish is Oil Varnish on the entire instrument apart from the neck that is French Polish (Shellac). Color is yellow / orange ground with amber. Condition is close to new.
The viola has been played in France, Taiwan, Cremona (Italy) and recently in Vancouver by a VSO player.I really care about my instruments being played (instead of collecting dust). Professional musician or active player will get 25 percent off
