For sale is my Taylor NS7 nylon string guitar which i have owned for about 7yrs. It is a cedar top with Indian rosewood back and sides and mahogany neck. The quality of the woods is first class, the top being extremely fine grained but it is the back and sides which i think are exceptional, the colour and grain of the rosewood is just outstanding. I have never seen nicer Indian rosewood on any guitar, including my new one. Being a Taylor means the build quality is flawless. It has the Taylor /Fishman undersaddle pick up /mic blender pre-amp fitted as standard, which all works fine.
A note for the guitar anoraks, the bracing system is Taylors own design it appears based on the Ramenez style of fan bracing which includes a treble bar. The sound is typical of all high quality traditional ceder classical guitars, it's powerful (read loud) with a deep clear bass, very sweet trebles and rich sounding mids.
Now the down sides, it is not in perfect condition and wasn't when i bought it. There are a few dings on the top, one small ding on the side and small ding on the edge binding at the lower inside edge, almost all of these are in the lacquer finish. The neck has three small dents near the headstock, the back is unmarked and there is no fret /fingerboard wear. I am being critical here as i want to give an honest opinion of the condition, most of these marks are only visible on a closer examination, remember this guitar is 14 years old and has been played a lot.
It is the neck of these Taylors that makes them different from the normal nylon string guitar,it is the same width and shape as their steel string guitars, including the curved finger board. This makes them feel very familiar and easy to play if your used to a steel string guitar, unlike the plank with strings a standard classical neck can feel like.
The guitar comes with it's original Taylor hard case, in near mint condition, adjusting tool? and pamphlets. I have fitted a new set of Augustine blue strings.
This guitar is one of the most versatile you can buy it can be used for classical, jazz, folk, pop and the onboard amp makes it ideal as a stage, gigging guitar. This is the reason i am selling, i ended up playing this all the time and my other guitars have sat in their cases. So i have bought a hand built guitar which is exactly the same type, nylon /cutaway and am selling all my others. Thanks for looking.
