A  more knowledgeable ebayer has lent a hand to nail down the model. Gruhn's just lists it as an "RB" Elderly had an, almost identical, that they called a Gibson RB Deluxe (Recent). Same headstock shape, "Gibson" logo inlay, and fleur de lis inlays. Same little "Snowflake"  fret markers. Same single coordinator rod, same 5/8" pot wall thickness. Same 1/4" rolled brass tone ring, (flat top). Theirs had been refinished, sunburst, and rebound to white binding. The  RB Standard  model, has the 1/4" rolled brass tone ring, or tone hoop, as this banjo does. The number "253" is stamped into the pot, see the last picture. The planetary tuners are 5 Star brand, all work perfect. Resonator bound, top & bottom with black. This came from a very meticulus musician, who was caring, and careful with all his instruments. This one is all original, near mint, one owner, with the original high end hardcase. This is one of the most well made case's that I have had, very strong, heavy. The carry handle is better than any Samsonite ever produced. No makers name on the case. The finish is all the original, and in outstanding condition. Set up, head tensioned to "90" on my drum tuner, .010" neck relief, .125 string action height, plays & sounds just like a Gibson should. Very, very clean, very minor signs of wear.
