Antique pianos have so much warmth and character. This one is no exception. It's a beautifully made piano by German Piano - Eigenmac, an extremely well respected maker. This piano looks great, sounds great, the tone is smooth and gorgeous, so it's a total pleasure to play. There is even fine gold embossing on the front. Built in 1916 in Germany, it hasn't got any damage on or inside it and the ORIGINAL keys are in amazing condition! All it will need is a tune eventually, but for now, it's fine. This is a perfect piano to learn on. The kind of piano that inspires. The keys are easy for little fingers to learn on. I will be uploading a short vid tonight to show you the cabinet the keys, and importantly for you to hear and see it played. A sparkling new piano would look and sound silly in a beautiful old period home. You also don't want to be afraid to let your child near it! In its 100 year lifetime this piano would have some incredible stories to tell if it could talk. It has been looked after well and loved. I can tell that by looking inside it, and the ORIGINAL keys are an even colour. I don't like playing a piano I don't like the feel of, esp for practice. If it sounds good, that's half the battle! I believe that's half the reason many children give up trying to learn! It was a piano just like this that was the key to me becoming a professional musician, and I got to tour the world GETTING PAID to see the world doing what I love (can't ask much more than that from a piano). German pianos have a solid reputation of being the best, and for good reason. This one is no exception. There is NOTHING WRONG WITH IT! It needs a tune and that's it! (Under $200). PLUS if you live anywhere in Metro Melb or the Yarra Valley, I will pay for delivery from my home to yours (as long as there isn't three flights of stairs! Haha) Now, don't forget, your child may change their mind, or go for sport instead. And that's ok. So do you really want to spend three or four thousand only to find three months later they aren't into it? Don't waste your money initially. Wait. Watch. Listen (objectively). Let them bang around on this or one like it (see the other one I have for sale) If your child's teacher tells you it's time to upgrade, THEN do it. And because I do great deals, you will sell this for at at least what I am selling it for! You can't lose. As you will see once I upload the vid I took, the cabinet is in wonderful condition (even better than my own piano! Haha). The keys are easy to play, and I can't say enough to about the sound and tone. I'd LOVE to hear this piano once it has been tuned. You can see the inside of this piano and what great condition it is in.. If you can't get here, you will be able to see and hear it in the video. So I promise you in clear conscience, even if you decided to renovate this piano, no major funds will be required to bring this beauty to the 21st Century! I will even give you the name of a tuner in your area. PLEASE, don't make your young Mozart learn on an electric keyboard, they will excel far quicker on the real thing. It's such a rare joy to find a gem like this (most families keep them as heirlooms.) These beautiful pianos are becoming extremely rare! So grab one that's in good condition while you can! As usual it has been checked over by my tuner, and there are no cracks in the head, no rust on the strings, no sticking keys or hammers, the pedals are working, and I think it's killer!
