FULL MANUFACTURER WARRANTY.   The Toraiz by Pioneer is a much needed step back from computer based production towards dedicated hardware sampling and sequencing, geared towards live performance and on the fly creative tweaking. The Toraiz is packed with all the features one would expect from a hardware sampler and a lot more. First there's the pads, 16 color coded velocity sensitive high quality pads allow for live sample playing and sequence recording. Samples can be color coded which allows for easy organization (think, snares=red, hi hats=blue etc). The touch screen interface makes sample browsing, editing and manipulation easy, and the interface is very similar to other Pioneer DJ equipment. The TR style step sequencer is a great way to quickly make great sounding sequences of which up to 256 can be stored. The velocity sensitive strip on the left side can control all kinds of things such as pitch manipulation, note repeat, effects mix etc.  Then there's the filter section, oh god the filter section! The Toraiz features Dave Smith all analog resonant filters with both high pass and low pass cutoff controls as well as a drive control for the low pass. The filter section is actually duplicated for both stereo channels letting users independently control the filter for the left and right output. This filter is the exact same one used in the Dave Smith Prophet 6, and the result of digital sampling with high quality analog filters is incredible.  With a wealth of outputs, stereo sample inputs with level control, MIDI in and out/thru, ethernet link and phones output, the connectivity is robust to say the least.
