For auction. Deering Black Diamond 5 string banjo. Serial no. 6927. Has the older no hole flathead tone ring. Very powerful sound. Banjo is in very good plus condition and has been well taken care of . Hardware is clean with no issues. Neck is straight. And is set up well with 5/8ths bridge. Great action. The resonator has no wear or deep scratches, the neck is good with no capo wear, has one small barely noticeable scuff. The frets are good with only some wear on 2nd fret and the first fret on string . There is spikes professionally installed on 7,9 and 10 frets . Tuners work great. Banjo comes with a hard shell case but not a deering one. It works ok. has a presto tailpiece and has a new remo frosted head. The original was black and can be bought from deering. sounds a little beefier to me with the Remo. Neck is mahogany .. Look at all photos and use zoom feature. Banjo has been played professionally and really cuts through in a bluegrass band. Lots of info on the Dearing website. The older no hole versions of these are sought out for there power.
