A Magnificent set of Lawrie Bagpipes c1930, with 1940s piping book.Natural material & silver mounts (not catalyn, plastic, celluloid, bone or faux, but Genuine material of this time{pipers will understand})NO RESERVES HERE, WHO BIDS WILL OWN THIS !ABW no splits, cracks, repairs or warping. Some minor dings as to be expected for the real deal.These Vintage pipes are getting rarer & harder to come by as time marches on, they only usually become available after a generation & when they are snapped up are lost again for another generation. It may take another 50 years before instruments of this caliber come up for sale again, if at all! All silver is marked with the numbers 925 & thistle engraved. The blow stick stock has ASSAEY in a banner. The Assaey battle honors were awarded by the Governor General of British India for the 74th & 78th highlanders , also known as the Assaey regiment By 1959 they both became amalgamated & known as The royal Scots fusiliers & the highland light infantry. (all this can be googled, too much to information to write here.) This explains the unusual mounts & markings as a family descendant  Would have had these specially made for these pipes at some point pre 1959.A very unique set.Minor points, New Mac valve, Early Crozier/Ross reeds, Bag is excellent @ no leaks & has been re seasoned.Chanter ABW reed protector. Pressure testing corks X4 New cover & cord. Newly hemped fittings.
