1980's Peavey T-60 Electric Guitar - Natural w/ OHSC
Item Description
1980's Peavey T-60 Electric Guitar in very good condition with some light play wear on the front, back and pickguard. Natural finish on an ash body with a black pick guard and chrome hardware. The guitar is set up with a nice action and the maple neck and fretboard with it's thin, shallow "D" profile that makes it fast, easy to play and great feeling. The frets are in good condition with a moderate amount of playwear. The neck is equipped with a metal nut which helps note definition, focus and sustain. The pickups and electronics are still considered high tech by todays standard and give you a lot of one manipulation. Each humbucking pickup has its own volume and tone control. With the tone controls turned all the way up, most of one coil is cut off giving you a nice single coil tone. When you roll the tone control down to around 7 the pickup goes full humbucking giving you a nice full, thick sound. Rolling the tone down any further just rolls off high end. There is also a phase switch for when both pickups are engaged. The T-60 was the first guitar Peavey ever produced. It was a market changer due to some of the new ideas and manufacturing techniques employed on this guitar for the first time. It was conceived in 1976, first produced in 1977 (not really until 1978) and stayed in production into 1987. This was the first guitar ever made with CNC machines, which by now most people who know the guitar know that Hartley Peavey and Chip Todd pioneered (The "T" in T-60 is for Todd as in Chip Todd who designed the guitar with Hartley).  If you know someone who has owned one of these guitars, you know why they still own them. The T-60 is thought by many to be the most under-rated guitar of all time. This guitar looks, plays and sounds really good. This particular guitar is in overall great playing shape. Includes the original Peavey plastic hard shell case with brown interior. Made in the USA.Serial Number:  00515219 Weight:     9 lbs.     13 oz.
