Here is an exceptionally rare 1982, first year of production, Fender Stratocaster Vintage 62 reissue in the rarest of rare Lake Placid Blue.Fender is, after all, a business, and a business which was sold to CBS in 1965 which resulted in significant cuts to quality that begin to appear after the conclusion of the 1963 to late 1965 L-series number plates. Indeed, some Fender models in this early transition period held up in terms of quality until around mid 1966, but sadly fall off the collectible scale dramatically afterwards, as does their price tag. It was not until 1982 that Fender went back to basics and started creating instruments at the old Fullerton plant where quality, investment grade instruments once again began to exist. These instruments are the 1982 to 1984 Fullerton models. Sadly, the Fullerton plant has now gone due to a fire. The result was a move to the now Corona plant, where Fender instruments become more mass produced, losing some of the fine qualities that made Fender what they were originally in the 50's and early 60's. All my guitars are investment grade and this one is no exception: nothing replaced apart from installation of its 5-way switch. Comes with its original duck foot case, case candy and 1982 catalogue. Anyone is welcome to come and view the Strat so you can see with your own eyes the pot codes, neck date, stamps, circular Fullerton stickers, pickup winding and the finish under my UV black light. Silver undercoat is present on a chip close to the neck joint and one at the base of the body. I will post worldwide, buyer payers everything fully insured. The pound is weak so its a good time for Europe and America to buy from the UK. Please ask for an accurate shipping cost. I generally only use FedEx or TNT. If you don't know, once nitro finish is about 25 plus years old it starts to glow green under UV black light. This can be seen clearly all over the body and neck of the strat. There is no touch up or funny business to be seen.
