1972 Super Bass/Lead 100watts tagboard, newer imp. 4/8 16 Selector, which is definitely a plus as the original is known to fall out . Ihave the original push in selector and I'll be happy to send that along also. It's got 4 el34's, and I've got an extensive set of preamp tubes , and o upon agreement will be happy to let you choose otherwise I'll send it off with gently used JJ's. The power tubes are Svetlana and have been biased to a little over 70% idle plate dissipation. I will include pictures of the inside, and voltages but I need to get this listed. I originally purchased this from the gear Trader in Huntington Beach, a store that my close friend of 29 years owned and I occasionally worked at, rebuilt / redecorated, was a Salesman, and got my choice of a lot of nice stuff. Famous / infamous amp Builder Mark Cameron worked out of that shop for many years and this amp has a small imprint of his I can't say for sure because I have owned 1 and seen many of his creations and he signed most but as this amp is almost completely stock, except for repairs and normal upkeep I ad this only as a footnote. I'm guessing he redid the caps which is definitely desirable as the old caps would be almost certainly bad and what leads me to believe this is I've seen much of his work and his almost signature way of using a guitar string as an extension lead to ground and the small added mod to ch.1's V1 2nd triode (1MF electrolytic, 2.2kΩ 1/4 wattR)... the way the quarter watt resistor is piggybacked on the electrolytic is soldered and the fact that it is a quarter watt look very much like his work. Either way the recap job and impedance selector are professionally done and more importantly there are no holes drilled in the chassis and the one little mod just ads is super lead like Channel in number one in addition to the Super Bass in number 2. Both halves of V1 triodes are usually tied together in the Super Bass and this is easily achieved by using a jumper, and mixing both channels. I'm guessing the rear imp. selector may have been added because it may have been damaged as there is a long scuff in the back that leads up to it or away from but if you'll notice the Scuf it seems quite feasible that may have happened. Also at sometime in the past someone by the name of R. Lopez owned this, and saw fit to scratch his name in the rear panel and front panel right above the inputs. I've tried to detail everything and the pictures hopefully show it's condition it's given me 0 problems in many years and as long as your speaker cable is good, and you run it at the right impedance see no reason why it won't continue giving years of beautiful service. If you want to run it through some kind of hot plate or power soak I suggest not to or at least have it set up by a competent professional, the bias electrolytics appear to be original and I was planning on changing them for the exact same values if you'd like I can have that done before it ships. I welcome any questions feel free to get in touch with me to make sure this is simply one more transaction with zero problems and 2 satisfied parties. I've had a couple problems lately with underpayment of estimated shipping cost but nothing I've shipped has come back, or arrived in anything less than Stellar shape and like all my other bigger ticket items I will have a video of the packing process all the way to the desk of USPS or what ever company we agree on. I look forward to your bidding and will consider all reasonable offers so go ahead and treat yourself to early Christmas present or one of the best gifts you could probably give someone besides health or time. THANK YOU. |
