Has the original Label.  Label has the date and maker's name on it. Violin was refinished by Mark Edwards of Louisville Ky.
When I aquired the violin it had been stripped down to the bare wood by someone. I took it to Mark and he refinished it and restrung it. I don't play violin so I can't tell you how it plays but Mark said it was very good quality and plays well.A history of the maker can be researched on the internet. Here is what was found of this violin. Gabriel is the son of Christoff Buchstadter from the city of Stadtamhof. He was well regarded as a maker of great individuality, The scrolls are very distinctive with a long swan necked pegbox and dep open throat, and very concentric volute extending up behind the eye. Very fine Stratavarian sound holes with subtle fluting in the lower wing. Well regulated low arching. Generally fine choice of material. Comes with an old case. I will guarantee this violin so it does  not meet your expectations I will refund your money. Please contact me with any questions.
