This is beautiful Radio King set from the late 1930’s. Probably made around 1936-38. This is an example of one of the first Radio King sets. Sizes are 14x28, 9x13, 8x12 (actually an odd size….8 x 12-7/16”), and 16x16.Special custom ordered Remo heads were made for the small tom and will be included. Calf heads are currently installed and included. The tom tom holders are the very rare rotary style that were the first holders used on Radio King sets. The 16x16 tom sits in a cradle stand. Note the snare drum lugs that are installed on the 16x16 tom. This was done on the early Radio Kings until actual tom tom lugs could be designed. The bass drum and snare drum originally came together but the three toms were added to make this set. Very good color match. This is an example of one of the very first Radio King drum sets and is extremely clean with very few alterations. There are a couple of cigarette burns in the bass drum finish that have been filled in a bit so as to not be very noticeable. The holder on the small tom tom was changed to the later version but the correct rotary mount was reinstalled. This left a few small holes that are filled with bolts. This is one of the finest early Radio King sets in existence. Due to the large bass drum, international shipping would be quite expensive, so I am not offering international shipping. For USA buyers, I will do my best to keep shipping costs as low as possible but the large bass drum does increase the cost significantly. I recently shipped a similar set from Pittsburgh to Alabama and it was about $300. UPS is getting quite expensive for sets like this. Snare stand and high hat stand not included.
