Amazing deal on a 1969 Hungarian Upright Bass with a carved spruce top. It's been refinished to a light matte stain. Fingerboard is a stained figured maple. It is currently strung with medium Thomastik Spirocores, has relatively low action, and a deep, jazzy sound. Plays and sounds wonderful. Two repairs are shown in the pictures. There is a very small hairline pressure crack that is not spreading. See last pic. The 6th pic shows a cleat near the f hole and the 8th pic shows a repair on the back. There are typical signs of wear you can see on the edges. I've had this bass for 3 years, only using it for recordings and practice. It will need a minor setup at some point but plays and functions absolutely fine at the moment. Structurally sturdy. Fingerboard and bridge are in very good condition. Only light cosmetic wear. No digging into the wood at all. The scale is slightly shorter than a standard 3/4 making it a bit faster for shifting positions. A great bass for a great value. I plan to fix up an old Herald Jaegar Bass with the funds. Cash payment also accepted. If you're interested, I'd also be open to trades for any vintage Fender basses or guitars. 199.99 for shipping and insurance via FedEx Ground ONLY TO EAST COAST due to the expense of oversized items. If shipped, bass bridge and strings will be disassembled for proper packing and safety. Strings/bridge will need to be reassembled and possibly need a soundpost reset if the soundpost falls during shipping. Local pickup also available in Philadelphia.
