This item has been in my possession for years. Turk's mics are rare to find. This mic was produced in mid 60s on request and in limited series. NOTE: Only items in the final photo are subject to sale, all previous photos are for the reference only.Marko Turk, a Slovene designer (1920-1999), designed and manufactured high-quality electronic equipment by producing each of his microphones himself in his one-man workshop; however, his products were competition to much larger manufacturers. His microphones excelled in terms of use of materials, refined surface finishes and beauty. Turk’s work was early on awarded the highest state recognition in the field of culture, i.e. the Slovene Presern Award in 1965 for the creation of electro-acoustic instruments, International Design Award Baden-Württemberg 1993.  In 1988, he surprised the world public with capacitor studio microphone MKS-EXCLUSIV. These were perfect shapes, made as if they were precious jewelery, and head of the microphone was nicknamed - poppy head (Makova glavica in Slovene). In mid-1993 he was visited by the main representative of American society Shure Brothers, fascinated by its microphones. Nevertheless, for some time he cooperated with Iskra, Kranj. In 1964 the MD9 model became the first Slovene product to be included in the New York Museum of Modern Art design collection. At present, his other artwork is displayed at MoMA (The Museum of Modern Art, New York, USA) and MAO (Museum of Architecture and Design, Slovenia). Currently, his microphones (model MD8-C from 1962) and (model MD9 from 1963) are parts of MoMA exhibition ‘Making Music Modern: Design for Ear and Eye’. Notwithstanding his great success, he maintained for a long time that design was not his principal activity, but rather electro-acoustics.
