I am reluctantly parting with my beloved Louis Lot concert flute. It is a unique and beautiful instrument which has served me well over many years, but no longer suits my needs as a professional player and student. It has been fully restored by master flute tech and designer Ton Kooiman, but has not been played recently, so a service by a good flute tech would be in order.The flute is made entirely from sterling silver and was bought perfectly up to modern pitch in the 1960's by the Flutemakers Guild of London workshop. It was owned for many years by a prominent English flutist and has featured in many recordings. The serial number is 6416.You will rarely see such a remarkable and playable Lot flute on the market. It is not one for the purists, but for somebody who actually wishes to be able to play the instrument, as the maker intended. This flute will fit in with any modern ensemble and will shine in any solo performance.This flute is currently residing in Edmonton, Canada with the parents of its owner, who plays with the Dutch Bach Society (De Nederlandse Bachvereniging) and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, among others, while also completing her post-graduate studies. The flute is only being sold due the very specific focus of the owner and the need for her to commission new baroque instruments at this time. The instrument is priced very fairly and will be shipped worldwide. Final shipping costs will be determined according to preferred method of shipping and location following close of sale.
