Bach Stradivarius 36B B flat/F tenor trombone (lacquer)Product DescriptionA six-year-old instrument (serial number: 193234) with one previous owner, refurbished and serviced to a high standard by our own on-site technicians. The owner is known to us and the instrument has been treated well. We exchanged it for a lightweight jazz model (the plug was no longer required).The 36B is a medium large bore (0.525") model that is extremely flexible for all kinds of playing. They rarely appear in such good condition, as the older models we have seen are normally released by players after 15+ years when the playing experience diminishes.
OVERALLVery good for the age, physically sound with only specific wear from playing, and only minor issues. It plays well, and should do for another 10 years at least.BELL SECTIONThe lacquer remains good; we have removed some small dents around the bell flare; these are hard to feel, but you can see where some were in the right light. The trigger and rotor have been lapped and fully cleaned. The mechanism is smooth and assured. The tuning slides have been cleaned and serviced and are dent and scratch free. There is scratching on the shank receiver where the metal retainer is free to ride up and down during assembly.HAND SLIDEOut technicians performed a full service and the action is perfectly smooth and lovely to play. The main brace assembly and outer tube cross brace area all show some wear from hand holding, including the 3" nickel silver tube on the up leg.The inner legs are perfect, and without wear.The outer tube down leg has some tiny scratches and two very small pink spots (less than we would normally see on a 6 year old instrument). The upward outer leg has some small scratches, but no pink spots.The bottom bow assembly has no pink spots; there is some scratching and loss of lacquer in two places, including around the water key mount, suggesting it may have been re-soldered at some point. The water-key is air tight and the spring and pad in good order.CASEThe original Bach hard case is in working order. It shows signs of regular use, but is in very good working order. The outside shows only modest wear; both handles are intact and the main zip is not stretched and fully working. The accessory zip opens 95% of the way and then is fouled by some internal cotton thread; but this does not prevent its usage. The internal fluffy material is in good order, is not worn and does not smell; the instrument came from an environment that was smoke free. MouthpieceIt is supplied with the original Bach 7C mouthpiece, which has been little used and so remains in good order.NOTE
