Vintage Conn 18H Coprion Trombone – Refurbished, Custom Brushed Finish You are bidding on a refurbished vintage Conn 18H Copper bell Coprion trombone with a custom brushed satin finish. This is a great intermediate horn at a great price --the instrument is incredibly clean, and is a real beauty for its age. It has been professionally serviced including: a chemical bath to remove calcium deposits, large dent removal, inspection of all joints, and slide alignment. The slide is “very good” with little whisper, the inner slide is in great shape with almost no plating loss (please see photos) I’d rate the slide as 8 – 8.5 out of 10. There are a few small dings and scratches throughout, including a small dent on the handslide crook, which won’t affect the playing. The original lacquer has been removed and a brushed finish has been hand-applied before the instrument was re-lacquered. The inside of the bell is lacquer free to keep the bright shine, but will require polishing. The instrument has been play-tested and sounds great, dark rich tone with great resonance. A wonderfully responsive jazz horn. The instruments serial number is P00XXX, which dates it as 1971. The instrument comes with a hard case which is in good condition and no mouthpiece.
