The snare stand is not included in this auction.BB173Size: 14" X 3.25"Shell: 3mm SAND CAST BELL BRASS SHELL [original BB alloy] It's one of the best piccolo snare drum we have ever played.We had sold many high end piccolo drums including over 10 Yamaha David Garibaldi drums, a dozen of Pearl FF piccolo, a few Pearl FF cast aluminum, Gretsch Stanton Moore etc..This Tama BB 3.25" beats them easily.  It has unbelievable low end, full body and crisp rimshot sound.A totally insane animal... Nowadays, Tama piccolo BB drums have became more difficult to get because most of them are kept by professional drummers. This shell is made by sand cast shell process instead of centrifugal cast process which is used by Tama Reissue BB156 or other brand’s “bell brass “ snare drums. Sonor Horstlink cast bronze, Paiste ocheltree and Zildjian N&C snare drums all use sand cast shell process. This bell brass shell was also made with original bell brass alloy composition just like Mastercraft BB, Superstar BB and any ORIGINAL Tama BB. Many famous professional drummers like Dave Grohl, Brad Wilk and John Dolmayan etc, they use sand cast Tama BB PL565(N) a lot whose shells were all made with original bell brass alloy. You know what they sounds like…… But Tama Reissue BB 156 bell brass drums made by new metal alloy composition and  centrifugal cast method.  Centrifugal casting only gives you one dimension in terms of what your shell is going to produce, no matter whether or not any machining remains to be done on the shell afterwards. Then there are the actual sonic properties of sand casting, that is to say, when you make a shell this way, it does something special to the bell brass in terms of the actual temper of the metal.  There’s a special tonal quality to the bell brass that you can readily discern when the shell is finished due to the thickness of the sand casting you start out with and the temperature of the metal.  You also have a lot more options as far as working the initial casting down to a manageable, tunable shell.  The trouble with other forms of casting is that they are so definite—they don’t give you nearly as much margin for tuning, nor enough room for listening to other tonal qualities, other tonal properties and other notes in the shell.  We have sold many Tama bell brass drums in the past. Every original sand cast Tama BB has unbelievable warmness, fat sounding, huge tuning range and sensitivity, unbelievable dynamic and excellent resonance. They sing just like any huge church bell.   Condition: The shell and hardware are in excellent condition. There are a few natural patinas on the shell and hoops. It has some wears on the hardware. The bearing edges are in excellent condition.
