Baujahr / Year: 1974 Engl. description:This awesome vintage Telecaster is all original. Its serial reveals that was made in ca. late 1974 at the Fullerton plant. I bought it from the first owner (in Florida). The hardshell case was made in Brooklyn, NY and is original to the guitar even though it is not labelled Fender.
The guitar has the desirable black finish and maple neck. It weighs a gentle 3.5 kilos (7.7 lbs), and is a pleasure to wear compared to the heavy later mid/late 70s models. Other trademarks of this early models are the witch hat knobs and the three saddle bridge, which can be crucial for a Tele tone.
Famous Tele Custom players include Keith Richards, whose model's serial 556094 is very close. The tone is absolutely incredible as you would expect from a Tele of this vintage. Loud and twanging sound from the bridge, and a full, round but airy tone from the orig. wide range humbucker, plus the combination when the selector is in the middle position. The light wood is of course very resonant.The guitar is in excellent condition, just barely broken in. Only three small dings on the back side edge (see photo) and very minor natural playwear. You can see some grip wear on the back of the neck behind the first frets. Originakl finsish on body and neck feels suave and fresh. The frets are mostly unworn. Even the headstock finish has not aged much unlike other Teles of the era. Everything works flawlessly. I did not even bother to unscrew the pickguard or the neck, which apparently have never been taken off. It is evident that the electronics and pickups are original, and the first owner ensured he never touched anything and mostly stored the guitar in its original case. Latches of the case had been broken but are now repaired with period correct parts. The guitar just had a recent pro set up for intonation, and play like a dream with a straight neck and low action set up with 0.11 Ernie Ball strings. Worldwide shipping for very reasonable rates. Zustand ist exzellent, gerade ben eingespielt. Drei kleine Dings am hinteren Rand (siehe Foto), ansonten nur moderate Spielspuren. Fühlt sich fast an wie neu. Headstock ist vergleichsweise wenig nachgedunkelt. Originale Elektronik und Pickups funktionieren einwandfrei. Kaum Spuren an den Bünden.
