WHEATSTONE ENGLISH CONCERTINA SERIAL NO 18306 – WITH ORIGINAL CASE & AMAZING PROVENANCE - SOLD TO GIULIO REGONDI (SEE WIKIPEDIA) ON DEC 18TH 1867 THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A CONCERTINA ONCE OWNED BY THE VIRTUOSO 19TH CENTURY CLASSICAL GUITARIST, CONCERTINIST AND COMPOSER GUILIO REGONDI WHOSE BIOGRAPHY CAN BE FOUND ON WIKIPEDIA. The concertina has rosewood ends, 48 metal buttons and steel reeds.Professional restoration in June 2015 by a renowned concertina maker and restorer includes retuning to concert pitch, re-padding and repair of the case strap. The item will be carefully packed and fully insured. I do not overcharge on postage – I issue a refund if I have overcharged. According to the facsimilies of the Wheatstone ledgers published on the Horniman Museum website (horniman.ac.uk), this concertina was originally sold for 13 guineas on 18th December 1867 to a Mr Regondi.  According to Wikipedia,  Giulio Regondi (1823-1872) was a Swiss-born classical guitarist, concertinist and composer mainly active in the United Kingdom. Regondi was born of a German mother and an Italian father in Geneva, Switzerland. A , dedicated his Souvenir d'amitié op. 46 to Regondi in 1831, when the boy was just nine.
