Up for auction is my rare and highly collectible Gretsch 6191 Tennessean that is dated by serial number to 1961 but has some features introduced on 1962 model year as highlighted below . It is all original and in excellent original condition with the original case and all case contents including certificate and hang tags. 1961 model year spec features; - single cutaway maple body - 2 hilotron pickups - painted f holes - Three-piece neck (maple/mahogany/maple) with a nice medium profile - Rosewood fretboard with thumbprint inlays - Gretsch 'bar' bridge on ebony base and aluminum V-cutout "Gretsch by Bigsby" vibrato tailpiece. - Master volume, neck and bridge pickup volumes, pickup selector switch, tone selector switch - Double bound top, unbound back, single bound fingerboard. - Gray pickguard with Gretsch logo only - Dark cherry walnut finish.   This guitar has the following 1962 model features; - 2 inch body depth (1961 was 2 1/4 inches) - Standby switch - metal tuner buttons - Zero fret   The guitar is a beautiful instrument with lovely figuring in the wood. It is in excellent condition and is  plays amazingly, set up with a low fast action. It sounds divine and obviously nails the Gretsch twang for rockabilly and country, can sound very warm and jazzy and has a great rock and blues tone too. These guitars are going up in value all the time (if you have watched them on ebay over the last year you can see by just how much) so make a great investment as well as being a joy to play.
