anno Domini 1831 A very fine old cello with an amazing sound full of power. The cello is suitable for professional musician and professional cello playing. It is in original condition with some well repaired cracks. No cracks in the soundpost area. The scroll is grafted. A very fine work with a good choice of wood and in all essential parts original. The back is made of a beautiful two-piece back of maple with very nice flames. The ribs are of beautiful flamed maple and the top is made of spruce of regular nice grain.
The scroll is made of wood similar to the back. The varnish is reddish-brown on a golden-yellow ground. The cello shows some wear but is still in good condition. The cello has been well set-up and is ready to play with a new set of Strings. (Larson Soloist and Thomastik Spirocore) You can play and see this instrument in Berlin (Germany).
