I have lhad these for over 20 years. i would buy and sell them depending when i need the money. They are brilliant mastering tools... I bought this one 3 years ago. I sent it in the avalon last year where they did a tune up and replaced a tube for me. It works perfectly and has no blemishes. I am just making room to move into digital and here I am again needing the money. These stereo units offer a clean class-A solid state or more colorful tube signal path. The tube path has a very nice enhancement that happens which "puffs up" the signal in a nice way. Magic on vocals or guitars. If you're dabbling with analog gear for mastering or sweetening, you can get a lot of mileage out of this one box, and do the surgical work with a good plug-in EQ. Although a stereo unit, it works equally well on mono sources plugged into either input. The compression & EQ offer some really great broad-brush musical enhancement, allowing you to get a lot of mileage out of one box, whether tracking, mixing or even mastering.
