Description
Brand: Gibson

For sale, my seriously beautiful Gibson ES-135 in Antique Red. Built in the Nashville plant in 1996, during one of Gibson's golden periods of quality production. Laminate maple top (with some subtle and really nice grain showing through), lovely three piece maple neck with a rosewood board. Neck profile is super comfortable - sort of a 'transition' style, somewhere between a slimmer '50s and '60s D profile. Very little fret wear and a comfortable medium low action. 50's style trapeze tailpiece and TOM bridge. Now for the pickups... Neck unit is the original P-100 (which I happen to like in that spot), but the bridge has been changed to a Kinman P90HX! This is a REAL P90, but without the noise! Kinman really cracked it with this one - read the reviews. It has all the clarity, bite and definition of a great old P90 - just fantastic! So....the sound? Deep, throaty, resonant and FAT! Don't imagine that this big archtop is just a jazzer - it can rock seriously hard! Ex-G'n'R guitarist Izzy Stradlin LOVES these things and it's pretty much his favourite guitar. The guitar is in really great condition, with very minor cosmetic wear.  Comes with a BRAND NEW (but non-original) hard shell Guild case and I'll throw in the original bridge P-100, should you require it. The price is super competitive for an instrument of this vintage, given the prices of similar pieces I've seen recently... I will consider sensible offered close to the asking price. Will be carefully packaged and sent to the buyer using Parcelforce.
