Up for sale, a 2012 Fender Jazzmaster '62 reissue electric guitar in exceptional, near mint condition and perfect working order. This rare, limited edition "Competition" model features the racing stripe most commonly associated with Fender's Mustang models, along with a stunning bluish purple hue officially known as "Jupiter Blue". This Jazzmaster embodies the quality craftsmanship associated with Fender's consistently impressive instruments made exclusively for the Japanese market and not intended for export (like the model seen here). Although officially designated the JM66 model, the general features of this Jazzmaster are actually more closely associated with a '62 reissue, with dot inlay on the slab rosewood fretboard, a "Spaghetti" logo, and Strat style knobs. A textbook example of everything we love about the Jazzmaster, the instrument has plenty of twang and sparkle on tap, with a range of powerful and defined tones from the two single coil pickups, and warm, wooly sounds when switched to the rhythm circuit on the guitar's lower body horn. At 8lbs 8oz, this is a resonant and acoustically strident Jazzmaster that balances well on a strap. Setup to perfection here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, this Jazzmaster is dialed in and ready for the stage and studio with fresh 10-46 strings. The vintage amber tinted maple neck has a comfortable medium C shaped profile with nicely rounded shoulders and a smooth gloss finish. The nut has a notably wide 1 11/16" width and the slab rosewood fretboard has a rich, stripey grain pattern and dot inlay. The scale length is a full 25 1/2", and the fretboard has a vintage Fender spec 7 1/4" radius. The frets show no discernible wear, and the guitar plays cleanly up the neck with solid intonation and no buzzing or dead spots. The headstock sports an Pre-CBS style "Spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, with Kluson style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. All of the electronics work as they should, and the wiring and pickups are stock. The vibrato unit works smoothly, and the chrome on the bridge and vibrato shines like new. The gloss Jupiter Blue finish, pearloid pickguard, and white plastic parts are particularly clean and minty, with the original protective plastic still on the pickguard. As seen in the included close-up image, there is one small ding on the treble side edge of the body, and that just about sums up any notable cosmetic wear, as this guitar is otherwise showroom clean. The "Made in Japan" designation and JD prefix serial number are present at the heel of the neck just above the neck plate as well. This JM66 Jazzmaster from Japan is a rare, clean example of a now discontinued and desirable model that adheres to vintage Fender specs! The original gigbag, vibrato arm, and Fender Japan paperwork are included.***We are dealers for the Mastery M1 bridge, Offset Vibrato, and Lollar Jazzmaster pickups, any or all of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***
