I have a vintage 1961 Jazzmaster in sonic blue here for sale. It's all original except for the pickguard which shrunk and cracked apart. The only thing that isn't original is the pickguard which shrunk and cracked and wouldn't let the pickups move. The pickguard on it now is a wdmusic off white pickguard that is vintage correct which also has the vintage metal shield. The case is the one that came with it so its period correct but not the ones that typically went out with them. I imagine some kid in the guitar shop just went back and got the first case he could find to sell with the guitar. It looks like a fender one though. Pots are stamped 304-6119 and 304-6121 for the lead pots. I can't get a good look on the rhythm pots in the bracket and I'm not excited to take it out. So based on the stamps the lead pots are stackpole made in 61. There's no paint on the finishing nails and it definietly looks old under a blacklight but there has been some concern that it was refinished at some point, maybe even by the fender factory in the 70s but I believe its original. It's more sonic blue under the pickguard. It's yellowed almost to a sea foam green everywhere else. The neck is nice and straight and the guitar stays in tune for months with 10's. It's a nice smooth fat playing neck. There's a scratch on the back but you can hardly feel it. It's fairly small feeling neck. Smaller than an avri Jazzmaster I would say. Frets are good and original with no buzzing and look like they have been dressed at some point.I have taken pictures of a few places, like wear the elbow contour has rubbed through to bare wood, a few small dings throughout, and checking throughout the body. Still in great shape for a custom color thats over 50 years old. Own an original! I love the guitar but I'd rather have a pre CBS Sun burst jazzmaster so id be interested in trades in that one department.
