Early 1960s Gibson Baritone Ukulele - Solid Mahogany with Case - Rare!
Estimated price for orientation: 726 $
Category: Ukuleles
Class:
Description Brand: Gibson Type: Ukulele Model: B Country/Region of Manufacture: United States MPN: 26414
This is a very rare Gibson "B" baritone ukulele, serial number 26414. These baritones were only manufactured between 1961 and 1967, and because of Gibson's extremely complex and changing serial number system at the time, dating it precisely is difficult. Best guess is that it's either a 1961 or 1962.
This has a super cool vintage vibe, and the familiar Gibson logo and scroll shape on the head stock. It's all mahogany with tortoiseshell bindings, and for a 55+ year old instrument this uke is in great shape. The neck is smooth and straight. No significant damage to the body, headstock or neck. Frets are in good shape. There are some surface scuffs, scratches, and discolourations, and the usual spidery crazing in the finish, as well as one very thin, short crack in the back near the side (see photos). It comes with the black chipboard case you can see in the photo.Any questions, please ask.
