ITEM DESCRIPTION Alan van Kleef is a drum builder who works with Sheffield stainless steel as the primary material for his lugs, hoops and tension rods*. He produces drums that are as unique in appearance as they are in sound. Van Kleef is a musician-turned-drum builder. His career started in the 90's, drumming live to Drum & Bass DJ's at various events, then for the next several years, running his own recording studio in London. From his current Sheffield home workshop (where he's resided since 2010), Van Kleef crafts custom snare drums and full kits from materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, copper, titanium and ply shells with a wide range of veneer finishes.
Features: 14" x 5", 2mm 1050 aluminium shell. Hybrid alloy / stainless steel lugs. Hybrid alloy / inox stainless steel "quick release" hoops. Stainless steel VK 007 throw with integrated, stainless steel VKey.
