I found the rare (and real -- not a converted floor tom) 14" x 18" inch bass drum all by its lonesome. I then added, separately, the 8" x 12" tom tom and a 10" x 14" tom that I used as my floor tom, until I would find a real 14" x 14" Jet Black floor tom (which hasn't happened yet, but I'm sure there's one out there somewhere!). Each drum and their specifics / oddities / flaws: <> 14" x 18" bass: POWERTONE model / Fullerton, Calif. tag with speckled interior. Front hoop was damaged. I had Precision Drum in NYC make a replacement. It's nice and looks just like the original. Rear hoop is original and shows some wear (paint loss, especially where the pedal attaches). Brand new Ambassador coated batter. Original Rogers logo front head -- with a hole cut out for muffling. The hole was cut nicely (not by me -- it came that way). Way cool to have the original 18" head. There is one small extra hole on the top of the shell near a lug (see pic). I have no idea why it's there. Again, not a converted floor tom. <> *10" x 14" "floor" tom: 9/72 small white tag with speckled interior. Originally a "script" drum with a Swivo mount. Somebody converted it to a Memriloc mount, but it was done right. The center hole was enlarged, but very cleanly. The top hole for the Swivo mount was enlarged slightly to accommodate the larger bolt of the Memriloc mount. One extra hole was drilled below, which remains and is visible. I tossed the Memriloc and installed a reproduction Swivo mount delete plate. Not the greatest scenario, but it looks tasteful, IMO. Has two "script" badges (?). Internal muffler and air hole. A very nice, heavy-duty World Max DSS suspended floor tom mount with adjustable legs is used to make it act as a floor tom. No holes were drilled. All original, matching hardware (except, if we want to be picky, for one washer that is a generic replacement). Brand new heads: Ambassador coated batter; Diplomat coated resonant (just a personal preference of mine). <> 8" x 12" tom tom: HOLIDAY model / Dayton, Ohio tag with speckled interior. All original drum. Everything's there and correct. No extra holes. Brand new heads: again, Ambassador coated batter; Diplomat coated resonant. ***The following applies to all three drums:While each drum has its original wrap, Jet Black is not very forgiving. Up close, one can find numerous scuffs, scratches, swirling, etc.. They are not trashed by any means, but are not perfect and not for the top shelf collector. This is a player's kit. Likewise, the chrome displays wear consistent with its age. Mild (but some moderate) pitting. No steel wool has been used. Still, drums are clean and shiny and look nice. ***Old, but functional (and in need of cleaning) WFL flat base snare stand included to use as a tom holder until you get a Swivo arm. No arm is included. ***I think that about covers it. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. All in all, a cool vintage kit with flair. Will ship in three (3) boxes via FedEx Ground to the lower 48 for a $150 flat fee (any money left over will be refunded). Other states / territories inquire before buying. Sorry, no international shipping. Happy drumming...
