Up for sale here we have a VINTAGE SLINGERLAND 1960s SNARE DRUM. We recently purchased a storage unit that was a time capsule. It was owned by a stationary store that was operating during the 50s, 60s, and closed down in the 70s. They took all the product they had and put it into the storage unit we opened. Everything stayed in this storage unit since the early 70s. We found two Slingerland Snare drums in the unit. There was some other musical equipment related items as well. Most likely this store sold a mix of stuff along with stationary items (most stores back in the day did). The case shows some good age and a few issues as you can see. It buckles well and all is working well with the case. The original stand wasn't in the case when we found it. When we found it, it had some rust and corrosion on it. We cleaned it up very well and now it looks pretty good. The drum sticks look pretty much unused. The drum is in excellent condition. Our guess would be that you won't find many other snare drums from this era that look this good. We know from the badge that this snare was made in the range from 1963-1969. It is stamped inside, but it looks like the manufacturer double stamped it. We know it was made in September, but we can't tell if it is 1963 or 1968 due to the double stamping. We took the drum into a local professional. He was blown away by the condition of the drum. He tightened it up and said it plays perfect. We personally haven't owned many drums in our dealings, so we can only go by the professional we talked with. He said you would be hard pressed to find a Slingerland of this age in this condition. We can't tell if this would be considered blue or purple, but we have taken some close-ups for you to view. This storage unit was an amazing find for us and we have some really cool items for sale. Also many more amazing items will be coming soon as it will take us a long time to list it all. Please view all photos for a better view at contents and condition. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. “Our return policy is the following: We have a 30 day return policy if any item is not described accurately by both written description and photos. We take a great amount of pride in making sure the customer is satisfied with any and all purchases." ”We will be happy to answer any question that you may have. We sell mostly used and vintage items. We always reveal any and all issues with each item to the very best of our knowledge. Please notice our feedback score and feel safe buying from us. Thank you very much for visiting and we hope you come back soon.”
