Audio Developments AD031 - 8 channel modular mixer This is a superb quality 8 channel portable broadcast mixer manufactured by Audio Developments in the U.K. The unit has 8 discrete transformer balanced preamps, along with smooth inductor-based british EQ on every channel. These are professional vintage preamps in the class of the Studer 169, and all channels have high quality Penny & Giles faders for smooth action. The unit also has a stereo linkable compressor on the outputs, which is a rare module in the series. The mixer comes with the original power supply, power cables, and rugged custom foam-lined hardcase for transportation. The unit also comes with a spare P&G fader. Condition: The unit has been tested with the power supply and is mostly functional but there are some issues- I have tested input and phantom power on every channel with a microphone and tested all 8 channels of EQ to be working. The auxiliary send works on all channels through to the master auxiliary out. Master section channels A, B, and C pass signal but there is distortion on the first two. I cannot get the compressor section to compress audio, but I may be doing something wrong. There is a working oscillator circuit on the red switch to the right of the compressor module. The mixer appears that it will need some amount of work to get to 100% so it is sold as-is, but if fixed up will be a very high quality and portable suitcase mixer and they don’t make anything like this format anymore!
