A very fine, rare German certified violin bow made by Carl Henrich Knopf ca. 1870. Carl Heinrich Knopf was one of the greatest German bow makers. He made wonderful bows for important shops of Bausch family and and Nikolai Kittel. This is a superb example and outstanding playing bow, similar to bows made by the master for Kittel and recommended to a fine musician, including a soloist. The stick is excellent medium brown pernambuco, round with a perfect balance between strength and flexibility, fast response and finest level, vibrant and colorful sound. The length of the stick is 72.4 cm and the weight of the bow is 59 g.
