Here is my VINTAGE GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD CONVERSION.GREAT GUITAR!!!!!!Weighs 8.6 lbs. of SOLID VINTAGE 50'S HONDURAS MAHOGANY.I have been doing these conversions for some time now.I am really particular with the entire process. The routs are as exact as possible to original actual 1958-60 Gibson Les Paul Standards.Guitar is finished in Vintage Lacquer as well as Vintage Color Dyes. This guitar started out as an early 1958 Gibson Les Paul JR.These conversions require some re-building and massaging to the Mahogany body before the Flame Maple top is added. These include re-working of the larger neck tenon to the longer, narrow, correct Les Paul Standard tenon.Has typical 1959 neck profile.I also fill original P-90 route so when the bridge pickup is routed, it looks original.I am diligent to find nice aged, correct Eastern Figured Maple which was used on the original 50's Standards. Why go through all this work?? It fills a niche for the discerning Vintage Guitar Connoiseur who appreciates the MOJO of the aged, old wood. These guitars could be restored back to JR's but Gibson made approx 10,000 single-cut JR's from 54-58. Once these guitars have been stripped of thier original finishes and or routed for hum-bucks as so many of these have over the last few decades, they make perfect canidates for these conversions. Lets face it, the 1958-60 Standards are the modern day Stradivarius musiclal instruments. Very few of us can afford to purchase an original Les Paul Standard Flame top. THIS IS A CLOSE AS YOU CAN GET WITHOUT A $150,000 AND UP PRICE TAG.This guitar features the original Wrap Tail piece which is now the Stop tail. It also has the original 50's DEEP Bushings and Studs. Also has an original 50's Non-wire ABR-1.Original Vintage .022 Bumble Bee caps installed into a new, Vintage wired CTS 500K wiring harness.Original Brazilian Fingerboard from the JR converted to a Standard.  Has Medium Jumbo Frets.Royalite Binding.Royalite Pickguard.50's Vintage Inlay material.Great reproduction Pickup Frames, truss cover, switch tip, Switch Ring, Kluson Tuners. The pickups are interesting as well. We took 50's P-90's and dismantled them and built PAF's out of them. This includes the coil wire, magnets and pole screws. Bobbins are made of the original 50's material also. Here too this is as close as you can get to a PAF without the heavy price. Whats a set of double creme PAF's ?  5-10 grand?? We have been very pleased with the results. The neck pickup Ohm's out at 7.57 and the bridge is 7.65. Right in the average wheelhouse of original PAF's. Once again, MOJO!!!!I also have a Vintage 50's Lifton case that goes with this particular conversion.Case is a little rough but all latches and hinges work. Piece of wood is missing form back side of case also.Gibson is making some pretty nice reproduction Standards but out of New Wood which almost always lacks the character of Old, Dried out Vintage Wood!!!!Like I stated earlier, this guitar is for the discerning Vintage Guitar Buff / Player. This is not a cheap purchase but compared to an original its a steal and as close as you can get to an original. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.I can also provide addition pictures if needed. Please pay within 24 hours of purchase.Sorry no overseas buyers due to Cites Wood Restrictions. If you have a friend here in the States that can handle getting the guitar for you, contact me and we can talk.
