Up for auction is a Fox Renard Model 222 Wood bassoon in nice condition. This high quality Wooden bassoon is made in the USA by Fox, one of the premier bassoon makers in the world. This instrument includes standard keywork. We have just finished overhauling this instrument and it plays wonderfully. We ended up replacing all the pads on this bassoon, and now it plays cleanly and evenly up and down. This is a great high end pre-professional bassoon, and because of the high quality fox design, you will find that it will play better than most other brands. The Tenon connectors are  for a more even vibration throughout the instrument and will last you many years. A bocal is included with this instrument as well. In terms of cosmetic condition, this instrument is in good condition. This instrument does show some wear over the years, and the finish has been repaired in a few areas, but the instrument still presents very well. The Metal plating has worn through in a spotty pattern over much of the instrument as is typical with instruments of this age.  It polished up, but is still noticable.  Look at the many close up photos below to get a better idea of the condition of the instrument.  There are scratches, dings, and enamel loss in several locations on the wood body. It still looks great from an audience perspective, though.  The photos below will try to highlight any imperfections on the instrument. The case is a new Protec Case case.
