Yes chasing tone - is the fun of Guitar Collecting - So reading about tone, listening to the best of my likes and dislikes...and realizing that the Fender "Jimi" model was still not doing it for me - I decided to buy a left handed and turn it over, have it professionally setup (Neck) replace the nut and upgrade some of the electronics after I played this one for a while. NOTE: I CHECKED MY DATE OF MANUFACTURE IT IS A "2010" not a 2013 like I originally listed as. I misplaced my receipt.
1.) Ravens West Guitar "Skymaster" L.H. turned over to create that Hendrix pickup configuration. Pickups are staggered pole Wilkinson's with great deep sound. Middle is Reverse Wound for Humbucker mixing in position 4 & 2 - then a twist...lift the Volume pot and now you have Gilmore 7 Way - adds the option of all three pickups in position 4 and in position 5 you get Neck and Bridge. Pot down traditional 5 way switching.
2.) True Reverse Tremolo so the arm hangs down and is out of way ( ala Stevie Ray reverse style Tremolo)
3.) Upgraded 5 way switch - changed the pots to Bjorn
4.) Pearl Inlay is factory - Saturn / Milky Way Scape.
5.) Body is Alder ( two piece ) "Some stand scuffing on bottom edge of guitar from rubber on the stand - This Guitar is almost 11 pounds and my disability does not allow we to comfortably play this guitar long periods of time sitting down. My ICD does not allow be to strap a guitar on any longer and blood meds due to bruising from weight I have to play with a towel on my leg...so my heart says I have to let this one go for my health. I have too many strats and my hand built ones that I did have more sentimental value to me. So this one is your gain.
6.) Neck plate is Laser engraved Sun (?sorry no photo ) look at Ravens West Guitar Site for picture.
7.) Guitar Originally sold for close to 700 when it came out..they are selling cheap now about 400 - I cannot sell cheap due to the Pro Setup, Parts investment and Labor.
This is BIN or OBO only. I am not in a hurry to sell - this one is unique - "ARE YOU UNIQUE?" or 'ARE YOU EXPERIENCED" Do you live on The Dark Side of the MOON..then get Gilmore meeting Hendrix in this Axe...Women love this instrument when seen...are you a Stage Hound? Or a Sound Hound...either way this one does both -the sound is great...the neck is extremely playable and musical and yes you will have to get used to holding and picking and strumming a different way on this instrument...but like all playing to get good - PRACTICE, PRACTICE PRACTICE. Must add insurance to protect your investment and mine. Want it to arrive safe. no case gig bag bubble wrapped and guitar boxed to protect.
