From the fabled Elkhart plant
8 Inch Yellow Brass Bell.523 Medium BoreTraditional Wrap F AttachmentNo DentsGreat Slide ActionSerial Number N 075XX- 1970This is a wonderful example of a trombone made by Conn only in their glory days at the end of the Elkhart era. These were only made from 1964-1971. This was exactly the time that the 88H's were becoming cult classics. This is the smaller brother (or sister), a medium bore trombone that fit the jazz side of trombone playing a bit better than the 88H. The bell is yellow brass to project a bit more and brighten when the air is poured to it. Just a great all around instrument that will fit nicely in both classical and jazz settings. This one came to me from the original owner in very good condition. I had one small dent removed from the side of the bell throat by the brace and the slide cleaned and aligned. What you get is a trombone that has no dents and a slide that is fast free smooth and silent. exactly what you want in a horn. The stringed valve is faster and quieter than some of the other valve types today- That is why French horns use this type of valve. I have owned a 1966 Conn 88H since it was new and this feels very much like my trombone with just the differences noted above. It has the same vibrancy and "alive" sound and feel. I have heard it called sizzle. There are a lot more 88H's out there than 79H's making this one rare. It plays into the extreme trombone register very easily while still able to melt a midrange ballad and pop a pedal.Comes with the original Conn 3 Mouthpiece and original case - both in good condition. I liked a 6 1/2 size mouthpiece on it - You should audition several to find you best fit. This is a nice opportunity to get a rare Elkhart vintage Conn trombone in superb condition. With the price of new F attachment trombones, this should be a good value.I will ship to the lower 48 states for $60 and elswhere for actual cost by US Postal service. Europe and Japan should expect to pay a bit over $100 for shipping- Australia about $120No Reserve or Buy It Now on this one- Auction will set the price and High Bidder wins it!!!
