This auction is for a semi-pro Yamaha YCL-550 Allegro Bb Clarinet in Excellent condition with all new pads! This instrument was introduced for the serious student who wanted a leg up from the standard intermediate instruments. This instrument is difficult to find for sale because they are such high quality instruments. Easily beating out the intermediate level YCL-34 and YCL-450 in terms of response and tuning. This absolutely fabulous clarinet is one of the best money can buy without going with a fully priced professional model. The 550 used a specific cut of wood and higher grade keywork than the other intermediate line. They also had their posts gold plated for a nice look. This instrument is an excellent player, It is made from a high-quality wood that responds well and is easy to learn on. This particular instrument is in good condition. There are scratches on instrument body from normal use. The logos are worn, but visible. The silver plating on the instrument looks great, but has wear on several keys and in a few other locations on the instrument. The gold plated posts add a distinctive look, but the gold plating is wearing through to the silver underneath on many of the posts. The case is a nice compact hard case in beautiful condition. It is compact, extremely sturdy, and looks beautiful.
