If you're a Selmer fan or aficionado, you know all about this vintage of Mark VI's! Up for sale is a 1959, 80,xxx, selmer mark vi tenor sax. This elusive masterpiece is all original and is quite the player! I bought this horn for myself, and I honestly didn't think that I would ever let if go... it's just one of those horns that I would rate up there in the top 5 horns that I've ever played. I've owned, bought and sold over 200 mark VI's in the last 10 yrs, so I'm more than qualified to make this assessment. Unfortunately, sometimes life dictates other moves, so here she is available for someone else to love and cherish. This is the consummate lifetime horn. It's all original and retains about 80-85% of its original laq. It's not a collectors piece as it has had a few dents removed over its lifetime however it is a remarkable solid horn. It's all three and solid where it counts. There never has been any damage, and the neck, which has the matching serial number, is in perfect condition never having been pulled down. There has also never been any resolders and this is just one of those remarkable players that has tons and tons of life, still waiting to be played. I've owned many 80,xxx tenor and not all are this special of players. This one is the perfect mix of bright and spread so it really cuts when you need but is also able to blend just beautifully into any mix. I really just can't say enough of good things about this particular horn. The pads are all in great shape with plenty of life left in them and the keys are all lightening fast with little to no play in them. This is truly one those opportunities to get one of the most world class vintage Selmers that you will ever find! If you've been in search for that horn.... this is the one!!!
