If you've been in the market for the consummate players horn, this is one worth giving a serious look! Up for sale is a 1955, 62,xxx Selmer mark vi tenor sax. This is one of those horns where when you show up to a gig and bring this... everyone knows that you are a serious player. This horn is completely original and has a recent pro overhaul by Jim German. He used his signature red, waterproof pads and his work is top notch! This horn has been played but it's been kept in great shape. Most of the original laq. Has worn naturally and only about 15% remains. If you take a close look at the pics you can see the dark honey remaining laq. This horn is a very lyrical and sweet player that is fairly free blowing. I have lots of recordings that I can send you for anyone who is interested. To me, this horn is incredibly lyrical. Ive always had a love affair with Sba's but none could ever have near the power and projection of vi. What I fell in love with about this horn was that it played almost identical as my favorite sba but with much more power! The sound characteristics are focused, and thick sound like an sba, but with mark vi projection... loaded with color and overtones. Please reach out to me with any questions or for sound clips.
